Thanks everyone! I also found a parts LD near me that I might purchase.
I talked to Jen on the phone who is Ed's daughter (Ed was the last owner of the scoot) said that if the sale of his estate goes well enough to pay all the bills she will give me the scoot! If she's not able to give it to me she said she will make sure that I can buy it and that it will end up with me for sure. |

| Well, I finally got my dad's old Lambretta! Picked it up today with my cousin who I posted a picture of hanging on the back of the scooter. It's pretty complete but it's pretty rusty also. We're wanting to get started on it right away. I'll put up pictures soon. I didn't have a camera with me but my cousin brought his luckily. We're looking a better motor as the one that's in it is stuck and pretty rusty. I'll update soon! Wish us luck! |

Thank you! I'm so damn excited about this project I can hardly stand it. Found out allot of history about the bike today while figuring out where we want to start. My dad purchased it while he was in the Army stationed in Germany and had it shipped back to the states when he came home. By the way, it still has the original German tires on it. Apparently my uncle had a body/paint shop years ago and the scooter was originally a grayish off white color. My dad painted it in the 1960's to a green color which I thought was original. The green paint on some of the cables confirms this as well as the white paint we found underneath the floorboards. The red paint was from my cousin who is helping me with it now. When he was 16 he borrowed the scooter from my dad and ran into a car and bent up the front fender then primered it red and took it to his dad's body shop to be fixed. So far my uncle dug out a floormat, some very small reflectors from the license plate mount, and an innocenti badge that was on the front below the horncast. The motor is stuck and it's missing one of the vents on the cowls and also missing a latch for the cowl, the speedometer is smashed, it's got allot of surface rust, and a little rot on the floorboards, etc. My cousin has a bead blasting cabinet and has been a body work guy and motorcycle mechanic for 20+ years. He says all the bodywork and sheet metal work is going to be time consuming but very easy. We set our game plan today and started by power-washing the scooter to remove the 40 years of grime and dirt and flaking paint. We removed the spark plug and are currently soaking the motor with WD-40. Our first goal is to get the motor unstuck. My cousin said he's going to get his tanks filled back up for his torches next weekend so he can apply some heat to it to see if he can get it to budge that way. I know for a fact that the clutch cable broke and that's when it was parked so the motor is only stuck from sitting. I will update this with our progress. We're looking to have it fully restored in the next 10 months.

All the info I've found has the vin frame numbers starting at 500001 and ending at 543687 but mine is 551615 which has me wondering. |
