OK, folks, I now officially have possession! A quick look at the engine number states it is a TV2, with an engine number of 134229. I did not have time to find the frame number. I hope I was able to figure out how to post pix... While I think it's a thing of beauty, my wife is not impressed! It sure appears to be all there, and hope to have some time to "play" with it soon! I got the seat up and there were no papers. Same with the glove box. Under the seat was a bunch of loose batting. Does that belong there? The seat itself is fine, no rips. Not sure where to start, but I will begin with "stickys" book. I'm sure I'll be seeking guidance soon. How does it looK? A disaster or is there hope?? Is that rust "terminal" or is there hope?

That looks great! With a little care, you could get rid of that surface rust and it would look almost as good as new. If you decide you don't want the windshield, let me know. The Series 2 TV is one of my favorite models. _________________ Ryan

| Thanks - got a recommendation for getting rid of the surface rust? You couldn't see it from the pictures, but the windscreen is very brittle and has some "holes" in the plastic. Assuming I can replace the plastic, I kind of like it! |

I have been using Evapo-Rust to get rid of surface rust. It seems to do a great job. It's not supposed to do anything to the paint itself, but I have only really tested it on white or gray paint, so I am not sure if it would "bleach" the blue at all. I'm going to write up a product review in the next few weeks about it. _________________ Ryan

You can see what it did to the surface rust on this rusty old mudguard:
If you do end up trying it, I'd recommend testing it on the inside of the side panel or somewhere else that doesn't show to see if it will affect the paint. _________________ Ryan

I dipped my blue panels in evaporust and no discoloration ensued.
It's good stuff in my book. I used a large flat plastic storage container from target or lowes to get the panels submerged.

How many gallons did it take to be able to submerge the panel? |

I probably used 10 or the quart sized bottles, with $3 off rebates bought at auto zone.
I submerged the outside half and then the inside half of the panel, not the whole thing at once, thus the large and flat tub.
